EM12c: How to discover Exalogic Elastic Cloud?

Exalogic Elastic Cloud can be discovered using Exalogic Elastic Cloud discovery wizard of EM 12c.
Before trying this wizard, do ensure that
a. emagent has been installed on target node.
b. All relevant targets like Weblogic Domain/Applications/Coherence Clusters/Host etc. have been
discovered in EM individually.

With this discovery, you get a System target view where all applications/weblogic domains/Coherence Clusters and host(node) information comes on a single Dashboard.
To access the wizard,
1. On EM 12c UI, navigate to the Targets -> Systems page.
2. From the Add drop-down, menu choose Exalogic Elastic Cloud and click on '+Add' button.

3. Specify unique name for the Exalogic target
4. Select an agent on one of the hosts in the Exalogic System to perform the discovery.
If you choose an agent that is not part of the Exalogic System, an error message appears stating that 'No Exalogic Property File can be found' and indicating that you must choose an Agent which is on a Exalogic System Host.
5. Click Next. EM displays the discovered Oracle Exalogic Targets: Discovered Targets page.
6. Click Finish to complete discovery.

Exalogic Elastic Cloud DashboardThis Dashboard displays the status information including alerts and key performance metrics of the following targets in the Exalogic Elastic Cloud:
a. Application Deployments
b. Weblogic Domains
c. Coherence Clusters
d. Hosts

Hi Neelima,

Thank you for all the great posts. I have Exadata and Exalogic racks in our environments. when I try to add the Exalogic Elastic Cloud, it asks information about the OPS Center hsotname, JMX port etc, which we have not installed yet. I don't see that info or fields in your screen shot, is that a new requirement with 12.1.0.2 Cloud Control? Thank You.

Hi,
Yes with EM 12.1.0.2, there has been changes in exalogic mgmt. You can find more details on
1. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e35776/emexl.htm
2. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/install.121/e24215/exalogic.htm#BHCBCGBF

Hi Neelima, thank you for the update
I was able to download the infrastructure plug-in and got to see the exalogic elastic cloud in the drop down for target types while adding the target manually. During the setup though I get this error message:
Error in connecting to Ops Center Enterprise Controller. Import Enterprise Controller's SSL certificate to the Cloud Control agent used for discovery

Not very clear where to import this certificate to and also how does this work?

I've the screen shots if you like..

Hi Neelima, thank you for the reply. After downloading and applying the infrastructure plug-in, I was able to see the 'Exalogic Elastic Cloud' Option while adding the non-host targets manually. But ran into an issue: Error in connecting to Ops Center Enterprise Controller. Import Enterprise Controller's SSL certificate to the Cloud Control agent used for discovery

I know it's pretty straight forward that I need to add a cert, but not sure do I take the bundled OPS center cert with alias 127.0.0.1,1 and upload it to the keystore in the agent12c store or what do I need to do to proceed, if you like i can send you the screen shots. Will appreciate any help.

Thx.

Hi Barry,
You need to import Ops center's ssl certificate into emagent keystore so that emagent can communicate to ops center. Pl. refer http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/install.121/e24215/exalogic.htm#GSSOA9828
